The major portion of the Bible consist of the prophecy. To neglect this portion, we neglect a major part of our Bible for they are still awaits fulfilment.

The Sure Promise of His Second Coming

The promise of His coming is found in the:

  • Old Testament (Genesis 3:15, Isaiah 9:6-7)
  • Four Gospels (Matthew 16:21,27; 24:3,27,35,36,37 and 44 and 25:1-13; Mark 13:24-27; Luke 19:11-27 and 21:25-28; John 14:1-3 and 21:21-22)
  • Acts of the Apostles (Acts 1:9-11, Acts 15:14-17)
  • Epistles of Paul, James, Peter, John and Jude (1 Corinthians 4:5; 15:51-52; Colossians 3:4; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Titus 2:11-13 and Hebrews 9:24-28; James 5:7-8; 1 Peter 1:10-11; 5:4 and 2 Peter 3:3-4; 1 John 2:28 and 3:1-2; Jude 14)
  • Book of Revelation (Revelation 1:7 and 22:7,12 & 20)
  • Lord’s supper
  • Heart of every true believer

The Two Stages of His Second Coming

The Scriptures teach us that the second coming of Christ will take place in two stages. We believe God’s plan for the future is both pre-tribulational and premillennial. Therefore, we believe the next major event in God’s prophetic timeline is the rapture of the body of Christ, the church (John 14:2-3; 1 Corinthians 15:51-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:9).

The Practical Impact of His Second Coming

The coming again of the Lord Jesus to gather together to Himself those who belong to Him is not only a sure and certain hope, but it is an imminent hope.  We are sure that He is coming back to take us Home to be with Himself (John 14:3), and we believe He is coming soon – perhaps today!
