Romans 8:31-39 (KJV)

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Who can oppose us?

Many try, but God is for us! It is the world, the flesh and the devil. Romans 8:31 says, “If God is for us.”  That means you and I do not have to fear. We never have to be afraid of anything the world, the flesh or the devil can throw at us! (Psalm 27:1)

Many are going to try, but God is for us.

Who can accuse us?

Verse 33 says, “Who will bring any charge against us?” Satan accuses, but God defends! The very name “Satan” in Hebrew means slanderer or libeler. Satan is our accuser in Revelation 12:10, “for the accuser (Satan) of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.”

Satan accuses us all the time, but God defends, He forgives, and He justifies.

Who can condemn us?

Jesus could condemn us, but instead He is not condemning us, He is praying for us. Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Jesus could, but for those of us who are in Christ, he is not condemning us, instead he is praying for us.

Nobody can condemn us!

Who can separate us?

Jesus’ love is not broken by emotional factors, physical factors, earthly factors nor heavenly factors.

Is there anybody who doubt how much God loves you? The very worst the world can throw at you cannot separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord!
